Who we are

Foxed is a reading platform for tracking books, understanding your reading taste, finding recommendations, and connecting with other readers. For privacy questions, contact Foxed at isaaclebovits@mail.instinct.com.

Information we collect

We store information you provide or create while using Foxed, including:

• Account and profile details, such as your email address, full name, display name, username, profile image, and reading preferences.
• Your library, reading status and dates, ratings, reviews, private notes, and Goodreads import records.
• Collections and the books and notes you add to them.
• Friend requests, friendships, direct messages, community posts, reactions, and reports.
• Email preferences, delivery records, and unsubscribe or suppression status.
• Referral codes, referral-link visits, shares, and resulting sign-ups.

How we use information

We use this information to operate your account, maintain your library and collections, show social features, deliver account and notification emails, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, and provide the reading features you choose to use.

AI features

When an AI feature is used, relevant book information and reading history may be sent through the Lovable AI Gateway to produce recommendations, book match scores, taste profiles, summaries, and chat responses. Depending on the feature, this can include book titles and authors, reading status, ratings, tags, book descriptions, reading preferences, an existing taste profile, and the text you enter into a chat.

Email and book information services

Foxed uses Lovable's email service to send account and notification emails. Resend is used for promotional broadcasts. Google Books is used to retrieve book metadata and cover images. These services receive the information needed to perform their role, such as an email address and email content for delivery, or a book search query.

Sharing and visibility

Profile information can be visible to other Foxed users. Public collections and reviews can be seen by other signed-in readers. Accepted friends can see reading information shared through friendship features, while private library notes are excluded from the friend-facing library view. Direct messages are available to the people in that conversation. Community posts, reactions, and related profile information are visible to participating users. We also disclose information to the service providers described above when needed to operate Foxed, and when required to comply with law or protect the service and its users.

Analytics and browser storage

Foxed does not currently include a third-party analytics service or set analytics cookies. The app records limited first-party activity needed for its features, including referral-link visits and shares. Foxed uses browser storage for your sign-in session, pending referral attribution, and whether a referral prompt was dismissed.

Retention

We keep account information and content while your account is active and as needed to operate Foxed. Some direct messages may have an expiration date and are removed after they expire. Email delivery and suppression records may be kept to prevent duplicate or unwanted email. You can delete your account and associated information at any time from your Profile page in Foxed, or request deletion using the contact details below. Some records may need to be retained when reasonably necessary for security, dispute resolution, legal obligations, or enforcing the Terms of Use.

Your choices and requests

You can edit parts of your profile and remove certain library items, reviews, and collections in Foxed. To request access to, correction of, or export of your personal information, or to request account deletion, email isaaclebovits@mail.instinct.com. You can also delete your account yourself from the Profile page in Foxed; email remains available as a backup. We may ask you to verify that you own the account before completing a request.

Children

Foxed is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and address it.
